What "Delete My Account" Actually Means
When you ask us to delete your account, we permanently remove everything associated with it from our systems. That includes:
- Your account profile (name, email, sign-in data)
- Your puppies, litters, and their full care history (weights, feeds, logs, photos)
- Your kennel name, vet info, and all preferences
- Your NeoNanny conversation history
- Your stories, memories, and storybook pages
- Your Pro subscription record (your store-side subscription must be cancelled separately — see below)
- Your push notification tokens
- All cloud-synced data tied to your account
Two Ways to Delete
Method 1: From inside the app (fastest, ~60 seconds)
- Open NeoNest and tap your profile chibi (top-right of the hub)
- Scroll to Account & Privacy
- Tap Delete my account
- Read the confirmation, type DELETE, and tap Permanently delete
This triggers an immediate server-side deletion of your account and all cloud-synced data. Local on-device data is wiped on the same tap. You'll be signed out and the app returns to its first-launch state.
Method 2: By email (if you can't access the app)
If you've already uninstalled NeoNest, can't sign in, or just prefer email:
Email privacy@neonest.appInclude the email address you used to sign up. We'll match it to your account and confirm deletion within 30 days (usually within 48 hours). Once it's done, you'll receive a confirmation email.
What Happens to Your Subscription?
Your Pro subscription is billed and managed by Google Play or the Apple App Store — not by us. Deleting your NeoNest account does not automatically cancel your subscription. To stop future charges, you also need to cancel through your store:
- Google Play: Play Store app → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → NeoNest → Cancel subscription
- Apple App Store: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → NeoNest → Cancel Subscription
If you've already paid for the current period, you keep Pro access until that period ends, then it stops auto-renewing.
Timeline
- In-app deletion: Immediate. Account and cloud data are removed in real-time.
- Email deletion: Within 30 days, usually within 48 hours.
- Encrypted backups: Routine backup snapshots are purged on a rolling basis and fully expire within 90 days. During this window, your data is encrypted, isolated, and inaccessible to staff or any service.
What We Keep (and Why)
- Tax/payment records from any subscription you held — UK HMRC and EU VAT rules require us to keep these for 6 years. They contain a transaction reference, not your puppy data.
- Anti-abuse signals if your account was suspended for safety violations — kept for up to 12 months to prevent re-registration. Anonymised after that.
- Anonymised analytics — counts of "users who tapped X" with no link back to you. These can't be reversed once your account ID is gone.
Just Want to Sign Out, Not Delete?
Signing out leaves your account intact — handy if you're switching devices or just want a break. Profile chibi → Sign out. Your cloud data stays put; sign back in any time and it's all there.

Your Rights Under GDPR / UK Data Protection
If you're in the UK or EU, deletion is one of the rights guaranteed by GDPR (the "right to erasure"). You can also request:
- A copy of all data we hold about you (right of access)
- Correction of inaccurate data (right to rectification)
- A machine-readable export of your data (right to data portability)
- Restriction of processing (right to restriction)
- Objection to processing (right to object)
